Sunfull Benefits

The posting of positive and thoughtful messages by Sunfull’s participants:

  • Gives hope to those who are being harassed. Sunfull members post positive messages that counter-balance the malicious, negative messages.
  • Shows bullies positive comments in action, which can encourage them to change their posting habits.
  • Provides students the experience of posting positive messages, which reduces the potential for those students to harass others in the future.

Our concept of posting positive comments can help improve student’s attitude and reduce bullying in every country. Korea, as leader in information technology, is working to develop solutions to technology related social issues.

Sunfull Movement started in Korea

The Sunfull Movement originated in Korea. Starting as a university class assignment, the concept was quickly recognized by educators as a way for schoolchildren to experience the value and impact of making positive comments to others while learning about the damage that can be done by malicious comments on the Internet.

It is this character education component combined with the beneficial effect of positive comments that motivated a significant percentage of educators throughout Korea to include Sunfull as part of their anti-bullying program in Korean elementary, middle, and high schools.

Global need for Sunfull Movement

Sunfull is a concept that can benefit the entire world. Every country is experiencing some level of cyber-bullying, and with the spread of the Internet, online harassment will continue to increase if steps are not taken now to reduce the trend.

Every month, there is another news story about a teenager who has committed suicide, in part, due to online harassment and torment. And for each teenager who takes their own life, there are thousands of other teenagers who are also suffering from bullying.

Governments and school systems around the world are developing and implementing anti-cyberbullying programs. These programs generally focus on two areas:

  • Telling students that cyber-bullying is bad.
  • Providing counseling and support to children who are the victims of cyber-bullying.

Sunfull is different. While educating students about the damage that can be done and providing support to victims of cyber-bullying are very important, Sunfull believes that it is also important to give students a positive commenting experience.

The Sunfull concept should be a part of a school system’s anti-cyberbullying effort: provide support for the victims of bullying; make it known that bullying is not acceptable behavior; and provide an active character education process of positing positive comments. Posting positive comments will motivate a portion of a school’s student body either to stop (or at less moderate) the posting malicious comments or to never start posting malicious comments in the first place.

Expand Sunfull to your country
